The Great Northeast Cheese Fest returns with loads of delicious artisanal cheese, top chefs, and free flowing libations!

About this Event

The 5th annual Great Northeast Cheese Fest takes place Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, at Flushing Town Hall. The region’s very best artisanal creameries will showcase an all-star lineup of exquisite artisanal cheeses from nutty sheep's milk tommes and sharp Cheddars to luscious triple cremes, tangy goat cheeses, and bold blues.

New York City’s top chefs will also present sumptuous dishes made with glorious cheese. Chef Hugue Dufour of the critically acclaimed M. Wells Steakhouse will once again prepare his wildly popular Swiss raclette, wherein Alpine cheese is scraped and melted atop potatoes, bread, and pickles. In a nod to the neighborhood’s strong Korean influence Chef Stephen Yen will cook up a riff on the popular snack tteokbokki, spicy Korean rice cakes with mozzarella. Other chefs include Alfonso Zhicay of Casa Del Chef Bistro. There will also be exquisite Portuguese charcuterie, including sumptuous Alentejano ham from Rodrigo Duarte, creator of USA Pata Negra. Fine libations, including wine from Rooftop Reds as well as beer and cider will be paired with all the glorious cheese.

Here's what one of previous year's guests had to say:

"Last night's event was a revelation! Finding great cheeses will be my next gustatory quest. This was my first time sampling raw milk cheese (goat & cow) and I was totally blown away! There was so much depth of flavor in all that I sampled, I was transported to both farm and barn by the rich smells and the funky barnyard flavors."

Guests will have an opportunity to learn about the cheeses from both mongers and makers as well industry experts.

As part of the festivities at this year’s Great Northeast Cheese Fest, there will be a People's Choice Awards where attendees will be able to vote for their favorite fromage!
